Brent Howard a resident in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1964 started BHI Bookkeeping when he was going to college at UNLV. He graduated with an Accounting degree in 1978. Brent worked as an outside workers compensation auditor for Nevada Industrial Commission from 1978 till May 1983 full time while he operated his bookkeeping business on his off hours. He has operated BHI since 1978 and still is the driving force today.
Brent started his bookkeeping business with a pencil and paper. He bought his first computer and printer in 1980 for about $7.000 which cost more than the price of a new Ford Mustang. About 1992 he decided to expand the bookkeeping business with the help of an Accounting Marketing firm that expanded the business more than 6 times. There were many lessons to learn from this such as costs of expansion. A few of these costs are increased accounts receivable, increased numbers of computers and office furniture, employee training and management, office lease acquisitions, computer networking and many more. Brent Has also been licensed Insurance agent with BHI Insurance for 12 years in Property, Casualty, Life, Health and Surety. He was also licensed to sell and advise on Mutual Funds for 4 years and was a Quickbooks consultant for several years.
